The End is just the beginning...Right?

I have to admit there were a few tears in this posting. Here is my son on the first day of kindergarten.

Celebrating at Home

On Leo's actual birthday we were able to have a nice family celebration. It was so sweet Midge put together a whole page of gifts that she had made and things she had collected from her personal stash for his birthday. She even made him his own birthday card and personal art work.

Leo was so excited to get cash from his Tia, Tio and cousins. You can't go wrong with moolah.

His sisters gave him a whole stash of candy, and being the sweetheart that he is he immediately distributed it to the family to share.

He loves Yu Gi Oh cards now.

For his birthday I made him cupcakes with this frosting recipe. Oh boy this is yummy stuff.

For his birthday we got him the game Hyper Dash. We have very active kids and this is a really fantastic game. Plus I love it because one person can play. Maybe it will help me get in shape and play with my kids.

Leo turns 6!

Six years ago today my first son came into the world. Where has the time gone?

From mom: Leo is such an amazing kid. He is patient and kind. Everyday he opens the car door for me when I take him to school. He has been amazing at giving hugs. He is a wonderful sibling to his brother and sisters. He is a great friend and a wonderful example to others. Our first born son is a very intelligent, fun loving kid. He laughs easily and keeps the family laughing as well. I love you and I have enjoyed these past 6 years of being your mom and look forward to many more.

From dad: I love watching Leo when he just sits there and reflects on life will a look of wonder on his face just thinking about life. He makes me laugh with the silly things he does and the tricks he tries to pull. I caught him last night pretending to run upstairs back to bed by stomping hard on the first stair and slowly sounding as if he was walking up all the stairs and then sneaking around. I wonder how long he has done that because I always believed he was running upstairs. Many times when I am upset with something he has done it is hard to put a serious face on because he makes me laugh so much. He is the nicest boy and likes to help out and do things for the family. He is very curious and it is fun to watch him figure things out. He likes everything to be fair and fights hard to make it so. I love you son and look forward to fun years ahead.

Updates

You can tell that I have gone back to work because I haven't blogged in so long. I have to work for a week and a half in order to get insurance over the summer for our family. Luckily Ken is at home while I am gone to bond with our little guy.

The week before I went back to work I took baby boy and Little Miss up to visit my parents. I had a few projects I wanted to work on and needed my mom's help.

Mom bought him these new shoe socks.

Little Miss has this funny thing she does where she goes around and takes people's orders. The funny thing is that she tries to talk you into what you should order.

Midge had been having a lot of fun using our camera to take pictures of everyone.

Last Saturday I was able to go with Finn, my mom, and 3 other friends to my favorite garage sale. There are over 150 houses and you spend all day walking through the entire neighborhood. We had a wagon, a stroller, and a cart with wheels and we had all 3 piled high by the end of the day. When we came home at the end of day this is the sight that greeted us from the front door. Ken and the kids had built a fort complete with holes to fire at us through.
