Busy Busy

We have had a busy week. Things are just piling up around here. A lot for me has been getting everything done at work and church before baby #4 comes along. I think I am going to get through all of it soon and then I won't have to worry once the baby comes.

This past weekend was the Asian festival. I love going - mostly because of the food. Ken wasn't able to go. He is high councilman in our stake and needed to prepare a talk.

I must be crazy because I took all 3 kids. The kids brought their allowance money and bought some treasures they just couldn't live without.

The kids favorite part was the martial arts display. They were amazed that even young kids could do so many moves.

The kids also liked the origami table.

We got there early so we could see the lion dance. It is a group of young teens.

Leo was so cute. He saw that other people were feeding the lions $1 for good luck. He got a dollar out of his own wallet and ran up and fed the lion.

Gymnastics

Last weekend we took the kids to a gymnastics place near our home. The kid's school sponsored the night. The kids love going to this place and Ken and I love it because they sleep great afterwards.

When we first got there Little Miss was a little nervous about the whole thing. She was standing next to me looking in at this foam pit. Leo ran up behind her and before I knew what was happening he had picked her up and thrown her into the foam head first. I thought she would come up screaming, but she laughed her head off and at that point she never slowed down.

This was the only picture I could get of her in focus because for the rest of the night she was running.

The majority of the time she looked like a blur of energy.

They had a long trampoline that you could run down and jump into a foam pit and all of the kids had a blast doing it.

Towards the end of the night Little Miss started getting tired so Ken had to climb into the foam pit and help her. He threw her towards me.

I set my camera on burst mode and got this series of pictures of Leo.

The kids played so hard it was funny to watch them constantly going.

Valentine's Day

For a couple of years now we have had a tradition of eating lobster for Valentine's Day. Unfortunately the kids are starting to like lobster so it appears that in the future we are going to have to purchase a few more then just enough for Ken and I.

This photo cracks me up. I turned around and found him like this.

Little Miss was a little unsure at first.

Once she got comfortable she climbed up on the chair and would say, "isn't he cute!"

Swimming Time

We have enrolled the kids again into swimming. I love how it wears them out. For the first time Midge is on the preswim team. They wanted her to join last year, but we weren't sure she was ready to do 45 minutes of laps 3 times a week. We have a great facility close to us, and the instructors have always been great.

She is doing a phenominal job, and is learning a lot.

I wanted to get photos of her doing the breast stroke, but because she was moving so fast I had to switch to athletic mode. The ideal lighting for this mode is outside in the bright sunshine, but I was able to capture her as she would come out of the water for her breathing.

In the end Midge's coach let them dive in from the side.

Leo is taking lessons too.

His favorite game is when his teacher hides the rings in the bottom of the pool and he has to go and find them.

We were lucky because Leo is the only person in the class so it is like he is getting private lessons.

He is also learning the crawl stroke.

He also has to practice the back float.

The other thing that we love about this pool is they allow younger siblings to swim for free in the kiddie pool. Leo did this when he was younger and by the time he started taking lessons he was completely comfortable putting his face in the water. Little Miss loves swimming and already wants her own goggles.

We have to watch her closely with the fountain because she likes to plug it up and spray everyone sitting in the chairs.
