One of the joys of having an 8 year old is being able to have fun with the scouting program. Ever since he was watched his older sister going off to Achievement Days all we have heard is when do I get to have fun. This week the roles have been reversed and all we have heard from our oldest is, "How come the boys get to have so much fun?" This week has been cub camp and I got to go on the first day and Ken on the second.

The theme this year is Destination Unknown and
had each of them broken into groups dealing with time.
We had a very large group of 17 very well behaved boys.
The first activity was a puzzle they had to complete in a minute.
They then gave each of the leaders these guns that launched a ring and had the boys catch them.
What little boy wouldn't want to be given an opportunity to make fire. The boys were the first group that was actually able to get sparks and start a fire.
One of the favorite classes was archery.
On the second day Leo got to use a compound bow
and found it a lot easier to hit the target.
The other favorite was the BB gun target practice!
Leo's favorite was the obstacle course. His fastest run so far was 49 seconds, supposedly someone did it in 29 seconds but we are thinking the kid might need to be tested :)
Each day they get to make a craft.
Of course the boys loved the mentos in a coke bottle station.
The weather has been cooler and it has been nice because the
boys can play around more and not get so sweaty.
