Midge's 9th Birthday

For Midge's birthday we took 5 of her friends and her brother to Amazon Pool. It is a great pool and kept everyone busy for 3 hours!

There was a large diving board that the kids dared each other to jump off of. J-Boy did it first.

Leo and his best bud A-boy had a great time in the other pool and water slide.

There was a really fast water slide that the older kids loved going down.

After some cajoling they convinced Midge to go off the high dive. She loved it.

Midge wanted cupcakes with bees and ladybugs.

When we got home one of the kiddos got sick (luckily in the driveway) so he and his sister had to go home. This is the remaining group enjoying the cupcakes.

Midge wanted scented markers so bad and was so excited when J-boy got them for her.

The below toy is an amazing gift. You draw on two screens and they become 3D.

She loved the art supplies she got and has enjoyed using them. She is an amazing artist. We gave her a book that tells her how to draw 50 different animals. It has been fun to see her drawing them.

Huck's First Haircut

For some time now Huck has had some funky hair going on. We have tried to style it but there is only so much you can do with it.

The front part has been getting longer and Ken said if he painted a little mustache on him he would look like Adolf Hitler, not exactly who you want your little guy to look like.

At my mom's house we decided to clip it with clippers. He wasn't too thrilled and we ended up taking a lot off. It was hard to get it all even because of course he wouldn't sit still at 5 months and in some parts I ended up taking off some big chunks.

You can see here how it is shorter, but I kind of messed up in parts. Ken said he looks like Jim Carrey from Dumb and Dumber.

The other big news is that he is eating rice cereal and sweet potatoes. He loves sitting with us at the table.

Today I took him to Missy's house, a friend in our ward, and she had these great scissors that thin out your hair. She helped take off some more and it really evened it all out. This picture doesn't show how great it looks now. The remaining hair is a lighter color now and it isn't as thick as it was before.

Little Miss's Birthday

Last Saturday our Little Miss turned three or "free" as she likes to say. She is still our happy little girl, just like she was from birth. In the past few months we have noticed plenty of attitude and sass to add to her personality.

My two helpers for making the birthday cupcakes.

We had so much fun making these. Little Miss called them funny octopuses.





We celebrated at Mimi's house and her dog Sophie kept trying to get one while we were making them. She was successful and snagged one of the cupcakes.

Little Miss loved her presents. Midge gathered things from her room and put them into a present for Little Miss. I really liked it because Midge gave her some of her treasures.


Little Miss's favorite gift was her Disney Princess dolls. She calls them "her girls". It is like she has a little entourage.



While we were at Mimi and Papa's we gathered produce in Papa's garden.


The kids were so impressed with the corn stalk tunnels.



I love it when we can eat the work of someone else :)
