Sunriver Trip Part 1

For the first part of Spring Break we were able to visit Ken's mom in Sunriver. I don't know if
the kids realize how lucky they are to go there. There were a lot of people who were there
renting houses for the break.

There was a little bit of snow from a previous storm. At least enough for a snowball fight.

At one point during our walk I turned around and realized Leo wasn't with us. I walked back and found him like this lying in the snow. I thought it was so cute he was relaxing. I didn't realize that he was actually sulking because his sister had found 3 golf balls and he hadn't found any. We spent the next 45 minutes looking for him. I found him two, but those didn't count because I had found them.

The next day we traveled to a snow park near Mt. Bachelor so the kids could do some sledding.
The whole day Little Miss was a crackup. Her constant plea was, "Daddy let's go again".

We even got Huck to go down a couple of times.

He loved to lay back and just watch the sky wedged in between dad's legs.
We couldn't get Leo to stop. He wanted to just keep going.

I love this picture because of Little Miss's hair and the look on her face.
Huck is in the front too although you can't see his face.

Little Miss's favorite way to ride was on Ken's back. She would cover her eyes
so the snow didn't get in her eyes.
I snapped this picture right before he fell asleep in my arms.
Midge was being a booger and wouldn't let me take her picture. Doesn't she have beautiful hands!
At least Ken was able to grab the camera and take these great shots.

For one of the days Grandma Susan agreed to watch a Goldenoodle (otherwise known as a golden retriever and a poodle). She was huge and the kids loved her.

Huck wasn't so sure of her. He was fine when she had her back end to him, but as soon as he was eye level with her face he would freak out. Slowly he realized that she wasn't anything to fear and you would hear him call for her all over the house, "Stella". Brando would be proud.

A Photo Session

So this little cutie patotie let me take his pictures today. He is turning 8 and is going to be baptized and his mom wanted some photos of him to celebrate the event. He is my son's age and they are good friends and in the same class. Look at those big dark eyes. He was such a good boy and humored my every idea. There were a few photos where I could just imagine a tag pinned to his chest with the words Elder on it. These are a few of my favorites, but his mom has the rest and she is going to have a tough time choosing because he was so cute in all of them.

The next ones I wanted to capture his youth, playfulness but at the same time how much he is growing up and starting to become more independent.

We the People

In Midge's class they do a performance titled We the People. Each year the students research someone they consider to be a hero and do a report on them. Then one evening they do a performance with songs and each child does a brief synopsis on their person. They are supposed to come dressed as that person. Midge chose to do Thomas E. Ricks the founder of BYU Idaho who also happens to be her great, great, great grandfather. Here she is in costume. In the above black and white photo he is in the center. Midge typed up her essay on her blog.
Here she is doing her performance for the school.

Snow Day

This is what we woke up to this morning. A winter wonderland. The funny thing is I started getting the kids up and ready for school and didn't even open up the window drapes to look outside. Ken was the one who pointed out the snow through a slit in the blinds.
The kids were so excited they wanted to go outside before breakfast. The snow was so wet and heavy.

We even got daddy out to play. He is such an amazing dad. He is like a big kid, and the kids are lucky to have him.

I love this above picture of Huck. His little cheeks were so red from playing outside. He wanted to be outside but he was so cold. My camera had fogged up from coming inside so it gave it a softer look.
