Christmas Party

We have had a lot of exciting things going on so be sure to check out several of our last posts. Last weekend we had our ward Christmas dinner. My family (parents, brother and sister's family) were able to come down.

Midge and I were asked to be in this amazing holiday play that was written for the Christmas program.

Midge was so nervous to be in the play, but she did such a great job

and had a lot of fun performing.

Ken and Leo were also part of the play singing Silent Night in French with the Paskett family.

The theme for the evening was Christmas around the world and the food was amazing.

At the end of the evening they announced that there was a special visitor. The kid's were so excited when they opened the back and there was Father Christmas sitting in a big sleigh.

Vocal Concert

A week ago Midge had her vocal concert. She started taking classes with Charlotte Booren and has really enjoyed it. For her concert she sang "Castle on a Cloud" from Les Miserables. At the first lesson Charlotte had her sing it and I got chills. I have always loved the song, and Midge has an amazing voice for the lower notes. Midge's favorite song though was "April Showers" because in her words it is a happy song.

A few nights before Midge picked out the feather headband at a friend's bow party. This friend of mine makes amazing hair bows.

Oh Christmas Tree

Last weekend we went up to Corvallis to pick out our Christmas tree. We stayed at my parents house where my sister and her family are now living with my parents.

Every year we like to get a different type of Christmas tree. This particular year my brother, parents, sister's family and our family went to a farm to pick a tree. This year we cut down a Norwegian Spruce.

Little Miss was in quite the mood. She wouldn't let me take a picture of her,

let alone come within 15 feet of the rest of the family. Man are we going to be in

trouble when she becomes a teenager.

She did eventually cheer up and start talking to us. I was finally able to capture a smile.

In the afternoon we watched the Civil War game.

My sister's family are Beaver fans. Here is Huck with his Beaver cousin.

I love the look Huck is giving him. "What in the world are you happy about

when you're a Beaver?"

Our little sweetie was recognized at school for his great teamwork ability. Way to go buddy!

Thanksgiving Vacation

For Thanksgiving we traveled to Susan's house in Sunriver. It took us awhile to get there because there had been a lot of snow in the mountains and we had to chain up. The kids were delighted when we got there because Susan had about a foot of snow. Finally they could build forts, sled, and have plenty of snow fights. The kids stayed outside literally from sun up to past dark playing in the snow.

At the house across the way there were huge icicles and the kids loved playing with them.

Baby Huck loved being outside. He was so snug in his snowsuit he fell asleep when we were outside. I was pushing him around in his stroller and I could hear his snoring.

Susan was dog sitting two poodles. The kids loved it because they said there was a dog for each of them.
